Cinema was born free but is everywhere in chains. Brand new accidents must be brought on to seize new beauty. One has to take risks infatuated with life. This is the feeling one gets by watching the new film by Erwan Le Duc, whose career we have been following closely. Mixing the story of a virgin soldier with Finnish and Japanese tales, Erwan Le Duc finds the formal and narrative freedom cinema had at its beginnings. A childhood looking very much like the future.
